In These Final Days of Coherence

February 5

Hi, peeps. It's been sort of a stressful day. Kinda busy at work, kinda weird at home. So, to stick with concrete things:

First, good birthday wishes to Amily! Hooray, Amily! My first love, my dear friend; and now, once more, she's as old as me.

Yesterday I got my contributor's copies of Snow Monkey, featuring my poem, "Missed". It's a cool 'zine. I'm happy.

"Little Gods" is getting a good response from readers... if you haven't read it, go! And if you like it, post something on the feedback board, thus (theoretically) encouraging the fine editors at SH to buy more, more, more of my work!

The A Certain Magazine survey is online. Go, and vote for the A Certain Magazine Awards, and fill out the survey, and so on!

I read "In These Final Days of Sales", a chapbook by Steve Rasnic Tem. Good stuff, though only barely speculative... surrealism, really. Finished Indigo, which was nice but sort of disappointingly inconclusive for my tastes. Am now reading John Shirley's ...And the Angel With the Television Eyes, which I like a lot so far; I'll probably review it. Also reading Dreamside by Graham Joyce, and liking it.

No writing yesterday. I spent the evening hanging out with Heather and playing Diablo II. And no writing tonight, because my head's been sort of strange and unfocused. Which sucks, since I'm spitting distance from finishing the Train story... perhaps I'll work on it on my break tomorrow afternoon, rather than reading, as I usually do.

Hmm. Tomorrow night is reserved for practical things; doing laundry, paying bills, sending out chapbooks. I may be able to write at the laundromat too, though...

Sorry not to say more. Coherence is coming only with difficulty tonight.
