A Modest Binge
Setember 2
Okay, so I only went on a 3/5s binge yesterday. I wrote for about 3 hours, all told, not counting staring-at-the-ceiling, reading-about-the-old-West, reading-about-underground-comics time. 3 hours of actual fingers-to-keyboard creating-fiction time. I wrote 6200 words, a respectable amount-- 2 and a half scenes on the novel completed.
Intermixed with the writing, I went to Mama's Café for a fine breakfast with Heather, I read about half of Jonathan Carroll's Outside the Dog Museum (featuring Venasque, from Sleeping in Flame! Which is amusing, since I was talking just a couple nights ago to Susan and Heather about writers attempting to interconnect all their novels and stories), I finished Diablo, I took a much-needed nap, I watched Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead (my favorite gangster movie) with Heather (who agrees with me that it's a fantastically good and strangely un-famous film), and I drank tea with my ladylove.
Altogether, a lovely Saturday.
In writerly news, I got an acceptance for a poem, "Missed," from print 'zine Snow Monkey. So, hurrah!
Otherwise, things've been quiet on the R/A front. No rush of pre-Worldcon rejections for me. We didn't get any mail yesterday, and now we don't get mail until Tuesday! Ever-loving Tuesday!. How shall I endure?
Okay, I'm going to do some writing now. I slept in today, and I have a date with Heather this evening (yay, date!), but perhaps I can be productive in the interim.
If you're so inclined, send me mail.
