Un!
September 5
The long drought is over! I made a sale! "Unfairy Tale" has found a home. It was the last story I wrote at Clarion, and I'm extremely fond of it. Whee! It will appear in Say... Was That a Kiss? (edited by Chris Rowe of ...is this a cat? fame), probably in October. I'm in good company -- Jeffrey Ford, Kristin Livdahl, F. Brett Cox, Mikal Trimm... it's like the roll call of the slipstream posse, yo. Though of course not a complete roll call, for lo, our numbers are vast.
I forgot to mention, in my endless con reports, the coolness of Sean Klein's sharkskin suit! I envy him his fashion karma. And did I mention meeting fellow NAWer Erin Cashier Denton? I didn't get to talk to her enough... And meeting fellow Web Rat, Melanie Miller Fletcher? With whom I also did not speak enough.
Gah. I could keep writing errata forever. The con was a fractal experience.
Work was rather pleasant today. I zoomed around running errands for most of the morning, and the afternoon went by pretty quickly, too. Came home and snuggled with Heather, and both of us decided to be virtuous and send out stories, so it's been a productive night, though I didn't do any writing. I expect to do a good bit this weekend, as the end of Rangergirl draws ever closer...
I talked to my mom on the phone today, caught up on family stuff, some of it rather bizarre -- but it's not my life, so I can't really go into details. Strange stuff, though. People behaving in quixotic, bizarrely naïve, romantic ways...
There seems to be little else to report, as is often the case when I actually update regularly. I updated my Links page a bit, though it really needs a major overhaul. I added a new tracker thingy to the main Tropism page. I've been using Nedstat for ages, but unfortunately that doesn't provide referrer information, so I've added Extreme Tracking, which does provide info about referrers. No bizarre google searches yet -- I'm waiting for someone to enter "erotic haiku" and find my site...
Hmm. Someone wrote, not long ago, to ask why I never post any erotic haiku. So here's one:
Your tongue talks against
my skin; my wishes tangle
up in your rough touch.
There. Now no one can ever say I never post any of those here.
If you're so inclined, send me mail.
