Nice Little Things

Setember 20

Woo hoo, Jenn and Kenny! La la la congratulations! They're lovely people, and they're lovely together, and now they'll be lovely together and married.

So: An acceptance, from Strange Horizons for a short story! We're still trying to decide on a good title, but for now we'll call it "Little Gods"-- it's the one I wrote partly at WisCon and partly in North Carolina. I think it's one of the best things I've ever done. It's tentatively schedule for publication in January; I'll remind you when it comes out, fear not.

Also an acceptance from A Certain Magazine, of a short review. It might come out in the November issue, but really, I dunno. My boss called it "perfectly publishable," which is nicely reassuring. And since I wrote it on my own time, I get paid the usual reviewer rates. (It's a review of 2001: A Science Fiction Poetry Anthology, by the way). Whee and hurrah!

Tonight Heaher and I are going to Hayward to visit M'ris and Timprov and Mark, and to watch a movie (prob'ly The Maxx) and eat ice cream and generally be happy. Mmm. I'm looking forward to it.

Last night we had sandwiches from the goooood sandwich shop, and watched Saving Grace, which was funny but went a bit wacky at the end for my taste. And much later we watched the first episode of the '65 season of The Avengers (the first season to feature Mrs. Emma Peel). I played some Diablo II. The creatures of the night, they fear my necromantic power. And Heather and I talked about writing and stuff... I have all these ideas for short, sweet love stories; I dunno what's gotten into me lately.

In less lighthearted news... man, this Nimda virus is nasty crap. I don't use Outlook, and I've disabled Java and file downloading, so I oughta be all right, but it's a vicious virus. I love my computer, yo. I don't want it to get sick.

Take care, peeps. Be safe.
